Teachers:
I would love to visit your school! I offer three presentations that are appropriate for upper elementary school students and up. Email me with questions or comments at cheryl@cherylwhitesel.com.

"From Idea to Bookshelf" In this presentation, Cheryl explains where ideas come from and how a writer's ideas are transformed into books. Cheryl will take students through the steps from idea to publication, including the author-editor exchanges that shape a manuscript. She shows students galley proofs, advance reader copies of her books and other items relevant to the writing and publishing process.

"All about Ninjas!"
How did ninjas evolve, interact with samurai and complete missions? Cheryl answers these questions and shows students replicas of ninja implements and swords (all are wooden or plastic, and safe). Students can try on a ninja outfit, if time permits.

"Vanishing Tibet"
Cheryl introduces aspects of traditional Tibetan life including schooling, nomadic life, Buddhism and the Chinese Occupation of Tibet. The presentation includes many photos of Tibetan life and an array of Tibetan objects for students to look at and touch.
